# An Appeal to Heaven – A Prayer from the Patriotic Rosary
*2015-11-12*

> Bill Young shares a prayer called “An Appeal to Heaven,” recounting apparitions in Alabama and their connection to American history, Mary’s messages, and a symbolic pine tree.

## Introducing the Prayer

Good afternoon, I’m Bill Young. Today, November 12, 2015, I’m praying a devotion titled “An Appeal to Heaven,” taken from a booklet called *The Patriotic Rosary* that was sent to me by a listener, Miss Wilmer from Miami Beach. My goal is to pray the full rosary by Thanksgiving, and today we’ll focus on this particular prayer.

## The Vision at the Pine Tree

The prayer tells of a long pine tree standing in an Alabama field, a place where many prayers for the nation’s healing were offered from 1985 to 1987. The land was quietly consecrated to Our Lady through heartfelt, private praise. On November 24, 1988, Mary, Queen of Peace, appeared to Maria, a visionary from “Magogoria” who was then in the United States. Mary promised that she would appear near that pine tree on Thanksgiving Day, inviting all to come. The Virgin’s appearance on the nation’s day of gratitude marked a powerful appeal to heaven.

## Continuing the Appeal

By 1991 people still gathered at the tree, believing that individual spiritual healing would spread to families and ultimately to the nation. The site, nestled between two mountains, became a symbol that God was hearing and answering the nation’s prayers. Around that time, research uncovered historical links that seemed to explain why this symbolism resonated so deeply.

## Historical Connections

The prayer notes that George Washington ordered Navy ships to fly a white flag bearing the inscription “Appeal to Heaven,” and that a pine tree was placed beneath the inscription. Though a pine has little to do with the sea, it became a symbol of the nation’s appeal to heaven. The prayer also references a 1995 discovery of a passage by Ernest A. Miles, a naturalist who wrote that an “immortal pine” would become a flag of a united, peaceful world. The author suggests that such symbols are not human inventions but are inspired by Our Lady’s apparitions.

## Mary’s Messages Through Nature

Our Lady’s messages, recorded on several dates, repeatedly call us to turn to nature. On March 25, 1990 she urged us to change the direction of our lives; on April 25, 1993 she said, “Go into nature and see how nature is awakening.” On October 6, 1986 she answered a question from a visionary in “Marigonia,” encouraging prayer that is lived out, not merely spoken. These messages point to the pine tree as a sign of peace and a beacon for all nations.

## Closing Prayer

We conclude by joining the Patriotic Rosary, inviting Our Lady’s light to shine on all nations and bring the peace that our country so desperately needs.

*The pine tree stands as a humble yet powerful symbol of America’s appeal to heaven, inviting us to pray, heed Mary’s call, and seek peace through nature.*
