*2015-11-07*

> Bill Young introduces the feast of St. Didacus and leads a prayer asking the Holy Spirit for the grace to distinguish truth from error and to follow God's will.

## Feast of St. Didacus

Good afternoon. This is Bill Young, and welcome to the Prayer at Lunch podcast. Today is Saturday, November 7th, the first Saturday of the month, and we celebrate the feast of St. Didacus of Spain, a 15th‑century layman renowned for his charitable works. We ask St. Didacus to intercede for us, that we might grow in charity as he did.

## Prayer to the Holy Spirit for Discernment

O Holy Spirit, through your light may we distinguish between truth and error. Help us to know the truth, dispel our illusions, and reveal reality. Grant that we may recognize the true language of God in the depths of our soul and distinguish it from every other voice. Show us your divine will in every circumstance of our lives so that we may make the right decisions. Help us to discern the signs of God in all events, the proposals he makes to us, and{unclear} the teachings he wants to implant in us. Grant that we may discern your suggestions so that we do not miss any of your inspirations. Give us the supernatural perception that allows us to discover what love demands, and grant us the understanding of generosity toward others. Above all, lift our gaze to you, O Holy Spirit, wherever your activity reaches us and touches us through Jesus Christ our Lord.

## Closing Reflection

Bill reminds listeners that the Holy Spirit’s guidance is essential for navigating the complexities of modern life. By opening our hearts to the Spirit’s illumination, we become more attuned to God’s will and better equipped to act with charity and wisdom.

*When we invite the Holy Spirit to enlighten our minds, we gain the discernment needed to follow truth and live out true charity.*
