## Feast of St. Nicholas Tavelic

Good morning. This is Bill Young, and welcome to the Prayer at Lunch podcast. Today is the first Friday of November, November 6th, the feast day of St. Nicholas Tavelic and his companions. St. Nicholas and his companions were charged with preserving the holy relics in the Holy Land. They took a stand for Christianity and were martyred, being beheaded for their faith. We honor them today.

## Prayer for the Dying

We now pray the short prayer called "Offering of the Blood of Christ for the Dying." It is especially offered for the innocent, the unborn children who could not be born, and for those whose lives are marked by suffering and premature death.

## The Prayer

Eternal Father, I offer you the merits of the most precious blood of Jesus, your beloved Son and my divine Redeemer, for all those who shall die this day. Preserve them from the pains of hell and lead them into Paradise where they may live forever in union with you. Amen.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

*May the blood of Christ bring peace and salvation to all who are dying, especially the most vulnerable among us.*
