> In honor of All Souls Day, Bill Young leads a session of prayer for the faithful departed, focusing on the Act of Oblation to assist the suffering souls in Purgatory.

## Commemorating the Faithful Departed

Good afternoon. Today is Monday, November 2nd, and it is All Souls Day. We are gathering to pray for all the souls of the faithfully departed. We all have family members we hold in our hearts; I am remembering my Uncle Sammy Cicerole, Molly Master, Uncle Brownie Master, my brother-in-law Roger Potts, and many other family members. We will pray for them today and hopefully every day. I also invite you to add your own intentions for your family members as we pray together.

## The Act of Oblation

Today we are praying the Act of Oblation for the suffering souls. The prayer is as follows: Oh my Jesus, meek and sweet, divine Lamb immolated forever on our altars for the salvation of humankind, I want to be united to You, to suffer with You, to offer myself as a sacrifice with You. For this purpose, I offer all the pain, the hardships, humiliations, and crosses which Your providence permits me to encounter on my path. To You, I present all intentions for which You offered and sacrificed Your Sacred Heart. May my humble offerings obtain Your blessings for the Church, for the priesthood, for the poor sinners, and for all society. And You, dear Jesus, desire to accept this from the hands of the Blessed Virgin Mary, in union with her Immaculate Heart. Amen.

## Concluding Prayers

We continue our intentions with the Our Father, the Hail Mary, and the Glory Be. We pray for all the souls of the departed—family members and friends, both those I have thought of today and those I may have forgotten—and for all those who need help. Amen.

*We offer our own daily crosses and hardships through the Act of Oblation to help the suffering souls find peace in the Lord.*
