*2015-10-27*

> Bill Young leads a heartfelt petition to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, asking for her intercession, protection, and the spreading of the medal’s graces in times of need.

## Introduction

Good afternoon, I’m Bill Young. Today we pray the Petition to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, to be recited as near as possible to half‑past five on November 27, the feast of the medal, on the 27th of each month, and whenever urgent need arises.

## Opening Petition

O Immaculate Virgin Mary, we know you are ever ready to hear the prayers of your children in this valley of tears. Yet there are moments when you wish to pour out your graces more abundantly upon us. Therefore we turn to you, prostrate before you at the blessed hour you chose for the fasting of the medal. We come with gratitude and boundless trust to thank you for the great gift you bestowed on us: your image, a proof of your love and a pledge of your protection.

## The Medal as a Sign of Grace

We promise that the Holy Medal shall be a sign of your presence among us, as you desire. May we learn from your guidance how much you love us and what we must do, so that many of our sacrifices, united with those of your Divine Son, are not offered in vain. May the pierced heart depicted on the medal ever rest in our hearts, beating in unison with yours, inflaming us with the love of Jesus and strengthening us to carry our cross each day.

## Petition for Grace and Conversion

Grant, Mother, that this hour remain filled with the sweet compassion of your heart, that your intercession may bring remedy to many evils. May the medal spread your blessings, heal the sick, bring peace to families, and free us from danger. May it be a source of comfort to the afflicted and a light of strength to all. In particular, we ask for the conversion of sinners, especially those dear to us, remembering that they too are your children. Through your maternal prayers may they be drawn to Christ and find salvation.

## Closing Prayer

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness, our hope. To you we cry, banished children of the world; to you we lift our sighs, mourning in the valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, toward us and, after this exile, show us the blessed fruit of your Son, Jesus. O Clement, O loving, sweet Virgin Mary, pray for us that we may be made worthy of Christ’s promise. Amen.

*May the Miraculous Medal continually remind us of Mary’s maternal love and the graces she pours out for all who trust in her.*
