# Anthem to Mary, inviolate, pure and chaste

> Bill Young reflects on the life of St. John Leonardi and leads a prayerful anthem to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

## The example of St. John Leonardi

Today is Thursday, October 8, the feast day of St. John Leonardi. John was a priest in the 17th century. If you have ever felt that you are alone and cannot achieve anything, I encourage you to look at John's biography. He shows us how one person, acting for the good, was able to change the world.

## An anthem to the Blessed Mother

Today we pray the anthem to Mary: Inviolate flower, most pure Virgin, shining door of heaven, beloved Mother of Christ, most holy lady, hear this hymn of praise. May our lives be chaste, may our souls be pure, and may our hearts be thus beseeched. Holy Virgin Mary, most wonderful queen, inviolate flower, may the forgiveness of God descend upon us who have sinned.

*Even a single person, through faith and action, can make a significant impact on the world.*
