# Our Lady of the Rosary – Pro‑Life Meditations on the Glorious Mysteries *2015-10-07* > Fr. Frank Pavone leads a pro‑life rosary meditation on the Glorious Mysteries, linking each mystery to the Church’s defense of life and praying for the unborn. ## Opening Prayer We begin in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen. ## First Glorious Mystery – The Resurrection Christ is risen! By His Resurrection He has destroyed the power of death, and therefore the power of abortion. The battle for life is already won; life is victorious. We pray that the truth of the Resurrection will inspire every corner of society to protect the unborn. Our Father… (same as opening). Hail Mary… (standard prayer). ## Second Glorious Mystery – The Ascension By His Ascension Christ took human nature, given to us in the womb, to the heights of heaven. He shows that human beings are meant to be raised to heaven, not discarded. May the world learn this truth and reject abortion. Our Father… Hail Mary… ## Third Glorious Mystery – The Descent of the Holy Spirit The Holy Spirit, our Advocate, pleads for us because we cannot save ourselves. We pray that the Spirit makes us advocates for the voiceless babies who cannot speak, write, vote, or pray. Our Father… Hail Mary… ## Fourth Glorious Mystery – The Assumption of Mary The Blessed Virgin Mary was taken body and soul into heaven because she is the Mother of God. Her Assumption reminds us that mother and child belong together. May society see that we cannot love women while killing their children, and may we be pro‑life and pro‑woman together. Our Father… Hail Mary… ## Fifth Glorious Mystery – The Coronation of Mary Mary, Queen of Heaven and Earth, is honored as the greatest creature after God. The Church teaches that defending the dignity of women is inseparable from defending the dignity of life. May all who understand this be moved to protect both mother and child. Our Father… Hail Mary… ## Closing Prayer Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. O Holy Mother of God, pray for us that we may be made worthy of Christ’s promises. May meditating on these mysteries draw us closer to the Blessed Virgin and to the promise of eternal life through our Lord Jesus Christ.
