# Novena to Our Lady of Fatima
*2015-10-04*

> Host Bill Young leads the first day of a novena to Our Lady of Fatima, coinciding with the feast of St. Francis of Assisi.

## Introduction and Opening Prayer

Good morning, this is Bill Young and welcome to the Prayer N Lunch podcast. Today is Sunday, October 4th, and it is the great feast day of St. Francis of Assisi. Today, we are starting a novena to Our Lady of Fatima, which is to be prayed from October 4th through October 12th.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. O God, come to my aid; O Lord, make haste to help me. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

## The Apostles' Creed

I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell, and on the third day He rose again. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

## Petition to Our Lady of Fatima

O most holy Virgin, who at Fatima revealed to the world the treasures of grace hidden in the recitation of the Holy Rosary, fill our hearts with great love for this holy devotion so that by meditating on the mysteries of the Rosary, we may obtain the graces and enjoy the fruits for which we ask of you in this prayer, for the glory of God and for the good of our souls. Amen. Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.

## Concluding Prayers

We conclude this first day of the novena by praying seven Hail Marys: Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
