*2015-09-13*

> Bill Young celebrates the feast of St. John Chrysostom and leads a prayer of consecration to our Guardian Angel, dedicating the prayer to Pope Francis’s upcoming journey.

## Feast of St. John Chrysostom

Good afternoon. This is Bill Young, welcome to Prayer and Lunch. Today is Sunday, September 13th, the feast day of St. John Chrysostom, who died in 407. He was a great bishop and priest. St. John, pray for us.

## Dedication to Our Guardian Angel

We continue our series on devotion to the angels with the Act of Consecration to the Guardian Angel. I’d like to dedicate this prayer to Pope Francis and his upcoming trip to Cuba and, eventually, the United States.

## Prayer of Consecration

Holy Guardian Angel, from the beginning of my life you have been chosen as my protector and companion. In the presence of our Lord God, the Blessed Virgin Mary, all the angels, and the saints, I, a poor sinner, William, consecrate myself to you. I take your hand and promise never to let it go. I promise to be always faithful and obedient to God and to the Mother of the Church. I promise to follow Mary as a model for my life and to be devoted to you, my holy protector. Help me fulfill my duties to the angels as best I can. Grant me strength in the spiritual battle for the Kingdom of God. O Holy Angel, give me the strength of divine love so that I may be steadfast in faith and fall into sin no more. May your hand defend me from my enemies. Grant me the grace of Mary’s humility so that I may avoid danger, and through your guidance may I reach the door of the Heavenly Father’s house. Amen.

## Closing Blessing

God bless you all, and have a great Sunday.

*Consecrating ourselves to our Guardian Angel strengthens our faith and equips us for the spiritual battle ahead.*
