# Prayers for Healing on the Anniversary of 9‑11
*2015-09-11*

> Bill Young leads a series of prayers to Jesus, Mary, St. Michael, and the Precious Blood, asking for protection and healing on the 14th anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

## Opening Reflection

Good morning, I’m Bill Young. Today, September 11, 2015, marks the 14th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on New York City, the Pentagon, and Pennsylvania. While many remember the tragedy with solemn reverence, some online messages still mock the day. In the spirit of prayerful remembrance, I will offer prayers for liberation from the spirit of evil.

## Prayer to Our Lord Jesus Christ

All‑Jesus, my Savior, my Lord, my God, who through the sacrifice of the Cross redeemed us and overcame Satan, free us from every harmful presence and influence of evil. I ask this in Your name, for the sake of Your wounds, Your blood, and Your Cross, and through the intercession of Mary, Immaculate Virgin, Our Lady of Sorrows. May the blood that was shed for us flow down upon us to purify, free, and heal us. Amen.

## Prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary

O Queen of Heaven, Sovereign of Angels, who received from God the power to crush the head of Satan, we humbly beseech You to send us the heavenly hosts of angels. At Your command, may they pursue the evil spirits, combat them everywhere, and drive them into the abyss of Hell. Amen.

## Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel

St. Michael the Archangel, enlighten us with your light, protect us with your wings, and defend us with your sword. Defend our homes from demons and wickedness, and protect us from the evil committed by people on earth. In battle, keep us safe until the final judgment. Amen.

## Litany of the Most Precious Blood

Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. God the Father, have mercy on us. God the Son, Redeemer of the world, have mercy on us. God the Holy Spirit, have mercy on us. Holy Trinity, one God, save us.

Blood of Christ, Son of the Eternal Father, save us. Blood of Christ, the eternal Word of God, save us. Blood of Christ, of the new and eternal covenant, save us. Blood of Christ, flowing upon the earth in agony, save us. Blood of Christ, shed on the pillar of the Cross, save us. Blood of Christ, poured out in the crown of thorns, save us. Blood of Christ, pierced for our salvation, save us. Blood of Christ, without which there would be no forgiveness, save us. Blood of Christ, the drink and purification of our souls in the Eucharist, save us. Blood of Christ, stream of mercy, victorious over demons, strength of martyrs and confessors, source of hope for the repentant, comfort of the dying, peace and sweetness of our hearts, token of eternal life, and aid to the souls in purgatory—save us.

Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, spare us, Lord. Graciously hear us, Lamb of God, have mercy on us.

Father, through the precious blood of Your only‑begotten Son, you have redeemed all people. Continue to pour out Your mercy so that, by celebrating the holy mysteries, we may obtain the fruits of our redemption through Christ our Lord. Amen.

## Closing Blessing

God bless you all, and never forget the victims of 9‑11 and those who lost their lives.

*Through prayer we ask Christ’s blood and the intercession of Mary and the angels to heal the wounds of tragedy and protect us from evil.*
