# Day two: Triduum and chaplet to the guardian angel
*2015-08-30*

> Bill Young leads the second day of a special prayer devotion dedicated to our guardian angels, consisting of a Triduum and a Chaplet.

## Opening prayers

Good afternoon. This is Bill Young and welcome to the Prayer N Lunch podcast. Today is day two of our prayers to our guardian angels. We are observing a Triduum to the guardian angels and a Chaplet to our guardian angel, to be recited from September 29 through October 1st.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. O God, come to my aid; O Lord, make haste to help me. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

## The Apostles' Creed and Triduum prayer

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, the only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. And on the third day, He rose again. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

For the second day of the Triduum: Most noble Prince of the Heavenly Court, you who have been kind enough to take care of my poor soul, defend it from the snares and assaults of the devil, so that in the future, it may never offend my Lord.

## Angel of God

Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God's love commits me here, ever this day or night be at my side to light, guard, rule, and guide. Amen.

## The Chaplet to our Guardian Angel

We now pray day two of the Chaplet to our guardian angel. Amen.

## Petition for forgiveness and grace

For the second day: My guardian angel, I humbly ask for your forgiveness for the sorrow I have caused you by violating the law of God in your presence and ignoring your inspirations and warnings. I beseech you to grant me the grace of atoning for all the sins of my past with true and quiet penance.

I also ask you for the grace of assisting at Mass with ever-increasing favor. Grant that I may always have a great devotion to Our Lady, who is the Mother of Providence. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

*We are encouraged to seek the forgiveness of our guardian angels for the times we have ignored their warnings and to ask for their help in growing in devotion to the Mass and Our Lady.*
