## Remembering St. Louis of France

Good afternoon. This is Bill Young, and welcome to the Prayer and Lunch podcast. Today is Tuesday, August 25th, the feast day of St. Louis of France. Louis became king at age twelve and assumed full responsibilities at twenty‑one. He was known for his deep concern for the poor, feeding many families each day, especially during Advent when anyone in need could come for food. He was also a strong ruler who fought in the Crusades and died at the age of forty‑one.

## A Prayer to the Father

Father, the earth needs you. Everyone needs you. We pray to you, Father, because even the heavy, polluted air cries out for your presence. Come back to walk along the roads of the world. Come back to live among your children. Come back to rule nations. Come back to bring peace and justice. Come back to kindle the fire of love so that, redeemed from sorrow, we may become new creatures.

*We ask the Father to return, renewing the world with peace, justice, and love.*
