> Bill Young presents a prayer written by Saint Pope John Paul II at the conclusion of the Marian Year, invoking the intercession of Mary as the Church enters the third millennium.

## Honoring the Queenship of Mary

Good morning. This is Bill Young, and welcome to the Prayer N Lunch podcast. We are currently conducting a special marathon of prayers to the Queenship of Mary to honor her and express the love we have for her.

## The Virgin of Beginnings

The fourth prayer in this series is titled 'Prayer to the Virgin of Beginnings,' written by Saint Pope John Paul II at the end of the Marian Year.

O Holy Mary, Virgin of Beginnings, we invoke you with trust at the troubled threshold of the third millennium of the life of the Holy Church of Christ. You are a Church which you helped to prepare; you, humbled and certain of the Word, moved only by the wind of the Spirit, accompany us with your mercy as we step towards the frontiers of humanity, that it may be redeemed and pacified.

## Hope and Victory

We ask that our hearts be rendered joyful and secure with the certainty that the dragon is not stronger than your beauty. O fragile and eternal woman, you are the first to be saved and a friend to every creature that continues to suffer and hope in the world.

*Through the intercession of the Virgin of Beginnings, we find the hope and security needed to face the challenges of the new millennium.*
