## Opening and Context

Good afternoon. This is Bill Young, and welcome to the Prayer and Lunch podcast. Today is Saturday, August 22nd, the Feast of the Queenship of Mary. In her honor we are offering a series of Marian prayers; this is the 24th prayer in the marathon.

## A Personal Petition to Mary

O Queen of Paradise, seated above all the choirs of angels and close to God, I, a poor sinner, greet you from the valley of tears and beseech you to turn your merciful eyes toward me. Look, O Mary, at the many dangers that surround me on this earth, especially the danger of offending God. In you, my Queen, I place all my hope. I love you and long to see you in Paradise. Oh Mary, when will the day come when I shall finally stand at your feet and kiss the hand that has given me so many graces? I acknowledge my ingratitude in this life, but I promise that, if I reach heaven, I will love you forever and make up for my shortcomings with blessings, thankfulness, and constant prayer.

## Thanksgiving and Intercession

I thank God for the great trust placed in the blood of Jesus Christ and for Mary's powerful intercession. Your devoted children have placed great hope in you, and none have ever been disappointed. Surely, I will not disappoint either. Oh Mary, ask your Son, Jesus, as I do, for the merits of His Passion to strengthen and fulfill my hopes. Amen.

## Traditional Hail Marys

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
