> In honor of the Feast of the Queenship of Mary, Bill Young shares a powerful prayer to the Blessed Mother as part of a larger series of prayers.

## The Queenship of Mary

Good afternoon. This is Bill Young and welcome to the Prayer N Lunch podcast. Today is Saturday, August 22nd, the feast day of the Queenship of Mary. In her honor, I am conducting a marathon of prayers—a series of 26 prayers—and today we are focusing on our 20th prayer.

## A Prayer for Our Needs

Mary, Mother of Jesus and of the Church, we need you. We long for the light which shines from your goodness, that which comes to us from your Immaculate Heart, the charity and peace of which you are queen. With confidence, we commend our needs to you so that you may attend to them. To you we commend our sorrows, so that you will make them bearable; our illnesses, so that you may heal them; our bodies, so that you may render them pure; our hearts, so that they may be filled with love and true repentance; and our souls, so that they may be saved with your help.

## Interceding for the World

Remember, Mother of goodness, that Jesus refuses nothing that you ask of him in prayer. Grant comfort to the souls of the dead, healing to the sick, purity to the young, faith and harmony to families, and peace to humanity. Remember those who go astray from the right path. Grant us many vocations and holy priests. Protect Pope Francis, the bishops, and the Holy Church of God. Mary, hear us and have mercy on us. Turn your eyes of mercy towards us in this, our exile. Show unto us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. Amen.

## Closing with the Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

*We can confidently entrust our sorrows, illnesses, and the needs of the whole Church to the intercession of the Blessed Mother.*
