## The Queenship of Mary

Good afternoon. This is Bill Young, and welcome to the Prayer N Lunch podcast. Today is Saturday, August 22nd, the feast day of the Queenship of Mary. In honor of this feast, we are doing a marathon of 26 prayers in her honor, and we are now praying the sixteenth prayer.

## A Prayer of Greeting and Submission

I greet you, Mary, most beloved daughter of the Eternal Father, amiable mother of the Son, faithful spouse of the Holy Spirit, living temple of the most holy Trinity. I greet you, Royal Lady. Everything in heaven and on earth is under your authority through your Son. I greet you, sure refuge of sinners and merciful queen; you reject no one.

## Petition for Repentance and Wisdom

Therefore, I, a sinner, throw myself at your feet and beg you to obtain for me from your beloved son, Jesus, the grace of a sincere repentance, together with forgiveness for all my sins and the gift of divine wisdom. I give myself totally to you with all my possessions, and I choose you today as my mother and queen. Treat me, therefore, as the last of your children, the most lowly of your servants.

## A Plea for Maternal Protection

Here, oh my sovereign, is the heart which desires to love you and serve you faithfully. May it never be said that among all those who turn to you, I am the first not to be heard. O my hope, my life, oh my faithful and immaculate Virgin Mary, graciously hear me, defend me, nourish me, instruct me, and save me. Amen.

## Closing Devotions

O Sacrament Most Holy, O Sacrament Divine, all praise and all thanksgiving be every moment Thine. O Jesus, beloved Jesus. O Mary, Mother of Jesus and our mother, give us the grace of your holy blessing. Amen. Bear with our weaknesses, graciously hear our prayers, and defend us from the world and from the evil one. Amen.
