# Prayers to the Blessed Virgin Mary

## The Queenship of Mary

Good afternoon. This is Bill Young and welcome to the Prayer N Lunch podcast. Today is Saturday, August 22nd, and it is the feast day of the Queenship of Mary. In honor of Mary, we are doing a marathon of approximately 26 prayers to her.

## An Appeal to Our Advocate

Together with St. Bernard, I say to you: pray, O Mother, that your Son may hear you, and that whatever you ask you will obtain. Your Son hears you and will grant you all that you ask of Him. Speak therefore, O Mary, our advocate; speak in favor of us miserable creatures. Remember that you received so much power and dignity for our benefit also, and that God wanted you to be His debtor by becoming incarnate in you, so that you could dispense, according to your will, the treasures of divine mercy to the poor.

## Trusting in Her Mercy

We are your servants, assigned in a special way to your service, and I hope to be among these. We are proud of living under your protection. If you do good for everyone—even for those who neither know nor honor you, but rather insult you and blaspheme against you—how much more we who honor, love, and trust in you hope in your goodness, which searches for the needy in order to comfort them. We are great sinners, but God has enriched you with mercy and with a power superior to all our sinfulness. You can and want to save us; the more unworthy we are, the more we hope that you will do so, in order that we may glorify your name more in heaven than we could have reached through our own intercessions.

## A Plea for Purification

O Mother of Mercy, we offer our souls to you. They were once beautiful, cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ, but they became stained by sin. We present them to you; may you take it upon yourself to purify them. Obtain for us a true sorrow for our sins. Obtain for us the true love of God and the grace of paradise. We ask these things of you, and surely you can grant them. It is not too much to ask, considering the love that God has for you. It is sufficient that you speak to your Son in order that you may have what you ask of Him, for He does not refuse anything to you. Pray then; pray for us, O Mary, so that we may surely be heard and surely be saved.

## The Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
