# Consecration to the Immaculate Virgin Mary on the Assumption
*2015-08-15*

> Bill Young leads a prayer of consecration to the Immaculate Virgin Mary on the Solemnity of the Assumption, asking to be wholly given to her service.

## Opening

Good morning. This is Bill Young, and welcome to the Prayer & Lunch podcast. Today is Saturday, August 15th, the Feast of the Assumption of Mary.

## Consecration Prayer

We begin with a prayer of consecration to the Immaculate Virgin Mary, Queen of Heaven and Earth, refuge of sinners and loving Mother, to whom God entrusts the whole plan of His mercy.

"Immaculate Virgin Mary, I am an unworthy sinner. I prostrate myself at your feet, humbly entreating you to accept the whole of my being—body, soul, life, death, destiny, and eternity. Use me without reservation, as you will, to fulfill what has been promised: that the woman's offspring will bruise the serpent’s head (Genesis 3:15). May I become a useful instrument in your immaculate and merciful hands, that your glory may shine through many lost and indifferent souls, magnifying the blessed Kingdom of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in as many hearts as possible."

"Where you entered, you obtained the grace of conversion and holiness, for every grace flows to us from the Sweetheart of Jesus."

*Consecrating ourselves to Mary opens us to the grace that leads souls to Christ.*
