*2015-08-15*

> Bill Young leads a midday prayer to Our Lady of Loreto, asking for peace, justice, and the sanctification of families, and concludes with traditional Marian invocations.

## Introduction

Good morning, I’m Bill Young. Today is Saturday, August 15th, the Feast of the Assumption of Mary. In keeping with our Marian devotion, we will pray the Prayer to Our Lady of Loreto, which is traditionally recited at noon on March 15, August 15, September 8, and December 10.

## The Prayer to Our Lady of Loreto

O Mary of Loreto, glorious Virgin, we approach you with confidence. Accept this humble prayer of ours today. Humanity is greatly troubled by grave evils; it needs peace, justice, truth, and love, and looks to you, O Mother, for those gifts. You carried the Divine Savior in the most pure womb and lived with Him in the holy house on the hill of Loreto. Grant us the grace to seek Him and follow His example, which leads to salvation.

Fruit of faith and fidelity, we come to bless your house because of the presence of your family, the supreme heart of the holy home. May every son learn to obey and work for you, and may every woman learn humility and the spirit of sacrifice from Saint Joseph, who lived for you and for Jesus. May all men believe in God and live justly and faithfully in family and society.

Mary, families are sanctuaries where God is loved and served. Grant, we pray, that each family may recognize your Divine Son in daily life and love Him above all things.

## Traditional Marian Antiphon

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness, our hope. To you we cry, poor banished children of Eve; we lift up our sighs, mourning in the valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, your merciful eyes toward us; after this exile, show us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus.

O Clement, O Loving, O Sweet Virgin Mary, pray for us, Holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. We pray for the Universal Church, for Italy, for all peoples, for civil institutions, for the suffering and for sinners, that all may become disciples of God.

## Personal Invocations to Our Lady of Loreto

Our Lady of Loreto, pray for us. Protect me. Heal me. Take care of my children. Ease my sufferings. Intercede for me. Protect my dear ones.

*May Our Lady of Loreto inspire each family to live in peace, justice, and love, reflecting the light of Christ.*
