## Feast of St. Mary Magdalene

Good morning, this is Bill Young. Today is July 22, the feast day of St. Mary Magdalene. She is one of the most honored women in Scripture—one of the three women at the cross (the mother of Jesus, Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary) and the first to proclaim that Jesus had risen.

## Consecration to the Blood of Jesus

Lord Jesus, you who love us and freed us from sin with your blood, I bless you. I consecrate myself to you with living faith. By the help of your Spirit, I desire that all my existence be animated by the memory of your precious blood, that I may serve the will of God and the coming of your kingdom. Through the blood you shed for the remission of sins, purify me of all sin and renew my heart, that the image of the new person created in justice and holiness may become ever more evident in me. By your blood, the sign of reconciliation with God and with one another, make me a malleable instrument of love and communion. By the power of your blood, supreme proof of your mercy, give me the courage to love you and to love my brothers and sisters, even to the point of offering my life. Jesus, my Redeemer, help me to carry your cross every day, that a drop of my blood united with yours may be a tribute to the redemption of the world. O divine blood, which together with grace gives life to the mystical Body, make me a living stone in the Church. Grant me a deep desire for Christian unity and infuse my heart with zeal for the salvation of my brothers and sisters. Raise me up to the missionary vocation, that all people may know, love, and serve the true God. Most precious blood, sign of liberation and new life, grant that I may persevere in faith, hope, and love, that I may leave this exile and enter the promised land of paradise, praising you with all the saints you have chosen. Amen.

## Closing Blessing

May God bless you all. Have a great day.

*May the Blood of Christ continually purify us, unite us, and send us forth in love and mission.*
