> Bill Young introduces the Chaplet of the Holy Wounds, explains its origin, and leads a full recitation using ordinary rosary beads.

## Origin and Promise

Good afternoon, I’m Bill Young. The Chaplet of the Holy Wounds was revealed to Sister Mary Martha of the Convent of the Visitation in France. The Lord promised special graces to those who pray this chaplet with devotion.

## Opening Prayers on the First Four Beads

We begin the chaplet on the first four beads, invoking the Trinity:

1. “O Jesus, Divine Redeemer, have mercy on us and on the whole world. Amen.”
2. “Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world. Amen.”
3. “Grace and mercy, my God, in present dangers, cover us with your most precious blood. Amen.”
4. “Eternal Father, have mercy on us for the sake of the blood of your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.”

## Our Father Beads

On each Our Father bead we pray:

“Eternal Father, I offer you the wounds of our Lord Jesus Christ to heal the wounds of our souls.”

This prayer is repeated for each of the ten Our Father beads.

## Hail Mary Beads

On each Hail Mary bead we say:

“O Jesus, forgive us and have mercy on us through the merits of your holy wounds.”

The phrase is repeated for each of the ten Hail Mary beads, maintaining the same petition for forgiveness and mercy.

## Closing Prayer

We conclude the chaplet with three repetitions of the opening Our Father prayer:

“Eternal Father, I offer you the wounds of our Lord Jesus Christ to heal the wounds of our souls.”

*Praying the Chaplet of the Holy Wounds invites us to unite our suffering with Christ’s passion and seek His mercy.*
