## Opening Reflection

Good morning, I’m Bill Young. Today, the first day of July, we devote our prayer to the most precious blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. In the news, six Southern Black churches were burned today. We pray that the Holy Spirit catches those responsible and brings healing to the faithful who have lost their sacred spaces, that they may rebuild and find strength in Christ’s blood.

## Litany of the Most Precious Blood

Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. God the Father, have mercy on us. Son, Redeemer of the world, have mercy on us. Holy Spirit, have mercy on us. Holy Trinity, one God, save us.

Blood of Christ, only Son of the Eternal Father, save us. Blood of Christ, incarnate Word of God, save us. Blood of Christ, of the new and eternal covenant, save us. Blood of Christ, flowing down upon the earth in your agony, save us. Blood of Christ, shed profusely on the scourging of the pillar, save us. Blood of Christ, poured out at the crowning with thorns, save us. Blood of Christ, shed upon the cross, save us. Blood of Christ, pierced for our salvation, save us—without which there would be no forgiveness, save us.

Blood of Christ, drink of perfection for our souls in the Eucharist, save us. Blood of Christ, stream of mercy, save us. Blood of Christ, victorious over demons, save us. Blood of Christ, strength of martyrs, save us. Blood of Christ, source of compassion, save us. Blood of Christ, which gives birth to virgins, save us. Blood of Christ, sustainer of those in doubt, save us. Blood of Christ, solace for the suffering, save us. Blood of Christ, consolation in grief, save us. Blood of Christ, hope for the repentant, save us. Blood of Christ, conqueror of death, save us. Blood of Christ, peace and sweetness of our hearts, save us. Blood of Christ, token of eternal life, save us. Blood of Christ, which frees the souls in purgatory, save us. Blood of Christ, worthy of all praise and honor, save us.

Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, spare us, Lord. Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.

## Closing Prayer

Father, through the precious blood of your only‑begotten Son, you have redeemed all people. Continue to pour out your mercy on us, that we may, by celebrating the holy mysteries, obtain the fruits of our redemption through Christ our Lord. Amen.
