## Feast of St. John Fisher

Good afternoon, I’m Bill Young. Today, June 23, we celebrate the feast day of St. John Fisher, a bishop in England during the reign of Henry VIII. He gave his life for the sanctity of the Church, and his witness reminds us of the power of prayer and sacrifice.

## A Family in Need

A single‑mother family in South Carolina is facing a crisis. Their 21‑year‑old son has been diagnosed with cancer, and the mother, unable to work, is at risk of eviction. They need $300 by next week to cover rent. Any contribution—$10, $20, $30, or the full amount—will help keep a roof over their heads and allow them to focus on the young man’s health.

## Prayer for the Sick

When the following prayer is said, Jesus wishes that the sick person and those who intercede for him or her be commended to God:

“Lord, this sick person comes before You, seeking what he desires most—health. May Your holy will be done in him. If it is Your will, grant him healing; if not, give him the grace to bear his cross with courage. Bless those who pray for him; purify our hearts so we may manifest Your mercy. Protect him, relieve his pain, and may Your holy name be revealed through his suffering. Glory to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.”

## How to Help

If you feel moved to assist, please visit the link provided (cancerbills.org) to make a donation. Even a small amount contributes to the emergency fund we hope to establish for families in similar situations.

*Our prayers and generosity can bring both spiritual and material relief to those suffering.*
