> In honor of the feast of St. Francis Caracciolo, Bill Young leads a session of prayer focused on consecration to the Merciful Heart of Jesus.

## Introduction and the Feast of St. Francis

Good afternoon. This is Bill Young and welcome to the Prayer N Lunch podcast. Today is the feast day of St. Francis, the patron of Naples, Italy. Continuing our dedication to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we are going to pray the prayer of consecration to the Merciful Heart of Jesus.

## Consecration to the Merciful Heart of Jesus

O merciful heart of Jesus, inexhaustible well of love, I offer myself, give myself, and consecrate myself this day to your divine heart which burns with love for us. Through your merciful love, make hate and pride disappear, and let love and humility reign. I beseech you, divine heart of Jesus: remember us, poor sinners, when we fall into sin, so that we may always love you more and more. O dear Jesus, knock at our hearts; the doors are open, and if you so desire, may our hearts be your dwelling place.

## The Apostles' Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, the only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell, and on the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

## Act of Contrition and Closing Prayers

O my God, I am heartily sorry for all my sins because they have offended you, who are infinitely good, and I firmly resolve, by the help of your grace, never to offend you again.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

*By consecrating our hearts to the Merciful Heart of Jesus, we invite Him to dwell within us and replace pride with humility.*
