# Act of Abandonment to Mary
*2015-05-19*

> Bill Young leads a brief prayer of abandonment to Mary, followed by the traditional Hail Holy Queen, on the feast of St. Bernard of Siena.

## Opening Prayer

Good afternoon. This is Bill Young, and welcome to the Prayer and Lunch podcast. Today is Wednesday, May 20, and we continue our May devotion to Mary with the Act of Abandonment. We also remember that today is the feast day of St. Bernard of Siena, whose intercession we can ask of the Lord Jesus Christ.

## Act of Abandonment to Mary

O Mary, Queen of the world, Mother of goodness, with confidence in your intercession we entrust our souls to your care. Accompany us every day to the fountain of joy. Give us our Savior. We consecrate ourselves to you, O Queen of love. Amen.

## Hail Holy Queen

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, hail our life, our sweetness and our hope. To you we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To you we lift up our sighs, mourning and weeping in the valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus. O loving, sweet Virgin Mary, pray for us, O Holy Mother of God, that we may be worthy of the promises of Christ. Amen.

*Entrusting ourselves to Mary’s maternal care opens the way to the joy of Christ.*
