# Praying the Chaplet of the Most Holy Virgin Mary
*2015-05-13*

> Bill Young leads a prayerful May episode focusing on the Chaplet of the Most Holy Virgin Mary, reciting the Apostles’ Creed and heartfelt invocations to Mary.

## Opening Prayer

Good morning. This is Bill Young, and welcome to the Prayer at Lunch podcast. As we continue our May devotion to Mary, the Virgin and Mother of God, we begin with the Chaplet of the Most Holy Virgin Mary. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, amen. O God, come to my aid. O Lord, make haste to help me. Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

## The Apostles’ Creed

We pray the Apostles’ Creed: I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, the only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell, and on the third day rose again. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

## First Invocation: The Whole Person

I venerate you with all my heart, most holy Virgin Mary. To you I consecrate my soul with all its faculties. You, whose intercession is powerful, help me in my present needs. Do not abandon me. I ask this through the power given to you by the Heavenly Father as His most beloved Daughter.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

## Second Invocation: The Body and Senses

I venerate you with all my heart, most holy Virgin Mary. To you I consecrate my body, with all its senses. You know my misery, you know what I carry in my heart, you know the need for your assistance. I place myself entirely into your hands. I ask these graces of you through the incomparable wisdom which the Word communicated to you as His beloved Mother.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now at the hour of our death. Amen.

## Third Invocation: The Heart

I venerate you with all my heart, most holy Virgin Mary. To you I consecrate my heart with all its affections. You, whose assistance never fails, come to my aid. I ask these graces of you through your merciful goodness, which the Holy Spirit has given to you as His beloved spouse.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

*May our hearts be wholly entrusted to Mary, trusting in her powerful intercession at every moment of our lives.*
