# Chaplet to Our Lady of Fatima: Day Five
*2015-05-10*

> Bill Young leads the fifth day of the Chaplet to Our Lady of Fatima, reflecting on the role of Mary as the ultimate mother and seeking peace through prayer.

## Honoring Our Mothers

Good afternoon. This is Bill Young, and welcome to the Prayer N Lunch podcast. We are continuing with the Chaplet to Our Lady of Fatima, and today is day number five. This coming Sunday is Mother's Day, and during this weekend, we honor all our mothers: the mothers of our children, spouses who are mothers, our mothers-in-law, and all our mothers. Most importantly, we honor the most important mother we have: Mary, the mother of our Savior and Son of God, Jesus. This prayer is offered to her to ask for her intercession.

## Opening Prayers

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Oh God, come to my aid; our Lord, make haste to help me. I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell, and on the third day He rose again. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

## The Fifth Day Petition

O Queen of Peace and our compassionate mother, who, during the great tragedy of worldly war in Europe, showed three little shepherds the way to free ourselves from many calamities by the recitation of the Rosary and the practice of penance, intercede for us with God. May faith and Christian virtues, peace, and prosperity bloom in our midst, to the honor of you and your divine Son. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

*Through the intercession of Our Lady of Fatima and the practice of the Rosary and penance, we seek peace and the blooming of Christian virtues in our world.*
