# The tenth privilege: the assumption of Mary into heaven
*2015-05-04*

> Bill Young reflects on the tenth privilege of the Crown of Twelve Stars devotion, focusing on the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into heavenly glory.

## Opening Prayer

We begin today by continuing our journey through the devotion of the Twelve Stars, focusing specifically on the tenth privilege. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. O God, come to my aid; Lord, make haste to help me. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

## The Profession of Faith

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell, and on the third day He rose again. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

## The Assumption of Mary

The tenth privilege concerns the Assumption of Mary into heaven. We reflect on the truth that the sacred and living ark of the living God has found rest in the temple of the Lord. The ark of the Lord brought to the triumph is the symbol of the All-Holy One being transported to heaven.

## Reflection on Heavenly Glory

The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, filled with love for their daughter and spouse, assumed her to heavenly glory in body and soul when the course of her earthly life had ended. Accompanied by angels singing 'Hosanna' to the highest heights of the throne of God, she received the greatest glorification. O Woman, clothed with the sun, you are not far away; you are here, acting with motherly tenderness beside each one of us on our journey towards heaven.

*The Assumption of Mary serves as a symbol of triumph and a reminder of her ongoing motherly tenderness as she accompanies us on our journey toward heaven.*
