*2015-05-01*

> Bill Young leads a prayer of consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Our Lady of Fatima, renewing baptismal promises and committing to live as faithful Catholics.

## Opening Prayer

Good morning. This is Bill Young, and welcome to the Prayer and Lunch podcast. Today is the second of May, the first Saturday of the month, and May is dedicated to Our Lady. Let us begin with the Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Our Lady of Fatima.

In the name of the Father, and of His Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

## Consecration to the Immaculate Heart

O Virgin of Fatima, Mother of Mercy, Queen of Heaven and Earth, refuge of sinners, we consecrate ourselves to your Immaculate Heart. We consecrate our hearts, souls, families, and all that we possess to you.

## Renewal of Baptismal Promises

In order that this consecration may be effective and lasting, we renew the promises of our Baptism and Confirmation, committing ourselves to live as good Christians, remaining faithful to God, to the Church, and to the Pope.

## Commitments and Devotions

We promise to pray the Rosary, to receive Holy Communion, to observe the importance of the First Saturday of the month, and to work for the conversion of sinners. We also ask you, most holy Virgin, to inflame our hearts and the hearts of others with devotion to your Immaculate Heart, that we may hasten toward the Kingdom of Jesus through your intercession.

*Consecrating ourselves to Mary’s Immaculate Heart renews our baptismal vows and strengthens our commitment to live as faithful disciples.*
