# Prayer of Reparation
*2015-04-15*

> Bill Young shares the story of a Poor Clare sister who recited a powerful prayer of reparation, and he leads listeners through the prayer itself.

## A Sister’s Promise

Bill introduces a moving tradition: a Poor Clare sister prayed this prayer every evening until her death. After she died, she appeared to the abbess, saying, “I went directly to heaven because I paid all my debts and was preserved from purgatory by reciting this prayer.”

## The Prayer of Reparation

Bill leads the prayer, repeating it three times with slight variations. Each version follows the same structure:

Eternal Father, through the hands of Our Lady of Sorrows, I offer you the scarred Heart of Jesus, with all His love, all His sufferings, and all His merits, to atone for the sins I have committed today and throughout my life. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

## Reflection

Bill reminds listeners that the prayer is a humble offering of Christ’s wounded heart, united with Mary’s sorrows, to repair the damage of our daily failings. By entrusting our shortcomings to Jesus’ merits, we participate in His redemptive work.

*Through sincere prayer of reparation, we unite our imperfections with Christ’s infinite mercy.*
