# Adoration of the Wounds of the Crucified Jesus

> Bill Young leads a series of prayers honoring each of the wounds of the crucified Christ, invoking the Holy Trinity, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the communion of saints.

## Opening Invocation

Good morning, this is Bill Young. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, we begin. O God, come to my aid; O Lord, make haste to help me. Glory to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. I recite the Apostles’ Creed, affirming my belief in God the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; in Jesus Christ, His only Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, who suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; who descended into hell and rose again on the third day, ascended into heaven, and now sits at the right hand of the Father, and will come again to judge the living and the dead. I also profess belief in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

## Adoration of the Right Hand

Most beloved Lord Jesus, crucified, I prostrate before You, united with the most holy Mary and all the angels and saints in heaven. I adore the holy wound of Your right hand. I thank You for the infinite love that bore such cruel pain for the forgiveness of my sins. Grant the Church strength against its enemies and guide all her children to walk the path of Your commandments.

## Adoration of the Left Hand

Most beloved Lord Jesus, crucified, I prostrate before You, united with Mary, the most holy, and with the angels and saints. I adore the holy wound of Your left hand. I implore Your grace for poor sinners and the dying, especially those who have strayed from reconciliation.

## Adoration of the Right Foot

Most beloved Lord Jesus, crucified, I prostrate before You, united with Mary and the angels and saints. I adore the holy wound of Your right foot. I ask that many saints may blossom among the clergy and all who devote themselves to You.

## Adoration of the Left Foot

Most beloved Lord Jesus, crucified, I prostrate before You, united with Mary and the angels and saints. I adore the holy wound of Your left foot. I beg You to free all the holy souls in Purgatory, especially those who have been devoted to Your wounds throughout their lives.

## Adoration of the Wounded Side

Most beloved Lord Jesus, crucified, I prostrate before You, united with Mary and the angels and saints. I adore the holy wound of Your side. I pray that You hear the petitions of all who ask for intercession.

## Concluding Prayers

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Glory to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. O Most Sorrowful Virgin Mary, pray for us.
