# Prayer to Jesus Most Lovable

> Bill Young shares a heartfelt prayer to Jesus, asking for deeper love, obedience, and union with Christ in the Eucharist.

## Opening

Good morning. This is Bill Young, welcome to the Prayer and Lunch podcast. Today I’m sharing a prayer from my book *Prayer to Jesus the Most Lovable*.

## The Prayer

O most amiable, beloved Jesus, you who are our life, our hope, our treasure, the love of our soul—how great a cost it was for you to remain with us in this Sacrament! You chose to die so that you might dwell on our altars. You bore every offense to console us with your presence, your love, and your desire to be loved by us in return. Lord, come into my heart. Let no other creature take away the love I have for you. Therefore, O Jesus, grant that I may be entirely yours. If I do not obey your commandments fully, may I feel the loss, so that I may strive to carry out your will in all things. Grant that my greatest desire may be to please you, to visit you in the blessed Sacrament of the altar, to remain in your presence, to receive you into my body, even if others seek pleasures elsewhere. I love nothing and desire nothing other than your precious love at the foot of the altar. Grant that I may forget myself in order to remember only your will. I do not envy the blessed seraphim for their glory, but for the love they have for God; may they teach me how to love and please Him. Amen.

## Reflection

In this prayer we ask for a total surrender to Christ, especially in the Eucharist, where His presence sustains us. The desire to love Jesus above all else transforms our priorities, helping us to reject worldly distractions and to seek the will of God in every moment.

*May we strive to love Jesus above all, finding our true home in the blessed Sacrament.*
