# A Prayer for Christian Unity on Easter Monday
*2015-04-05*

> Bill Young shares a traditional Good Friday prayer for the unity of all Christians, asking God to gather and keep His people together in one Church.

## Opening

Good morning. This is Bill Young, and welcome to the Prayer and Lunch podcast. Today is Easter Monday, and I’d like to pray a prayer that is normally said on Good Friday—the prayer for the unity of Christians.

## The Prayer for Unity

Let us pray also for all our brothers and sisters who believe in Christ, that our God and Lord may be pleased as they live the truth, to gather them together and keep them in His one Church.
Almighty, ever‑living God, who gathers what is scattered and keeps together what You have gathered, look kindly on the flock of Your Son. May those whom one baptism has consecrated be joined together by the integrity of faith and united in the bond of charity, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

## Closing Reflection

May this prayer remind us that, even beyond the solemnity of Good Friday, we continue to seek the day when all Christians are truly one in Christ.

*May God gather us into one faithful, charitable body, united in Christ.*
