> Bill Young reflects on the feast of St. David of Wales and leads a prayer of consecration to the Blessed Mother and St. Joseph.

## The feast of St. David

Today is March 1st, and we celebrate the feast day of St. David of Wales. He was well known in the sixth century for helping monks find their way and for starting many great churches in Wales and England. He also served as a bishop in Israel for a short time.

## Consecration to the Holy Family

The month of March is dedicated to St. Joseph, and in honor of this, we offer a prayer of consecration to Our Lady and St. Joseph. As God the Father, in His infinite wisdom and abundant love, entrusted you, Mary, and you, St. Joseph, with the care of His only Son, Jesus Christ, while He lived here on earth as the spouses of the Holy Family of Nazareth, so do we too, as children of God, commend and consecrate ourselves to you with humble faith.

## A plea for guidance and protection

We ask that you look after us, our children, and our families with the same care and tenderness with which you looked after Jesus. Help us to know, love, and serve Jesus as you knew, loved, and served Him, that we may love you with the same love with which Jesus loved you here on earth. Protect us and defend us from all dangers and evil. Help our faith to grow, keep us faithful to our vocation and our mission in the Church, and make us holy. At the end of this life, lead us with you to paradise where you already reign with Christ in eternal glory. Amen.

## Finding light in the chaos

We conclude with a short prayer: God, who is with us, our beginning and end, be with us now. Help us to find peace in the chaos of our lives. Let Your light shine in our darkness so that we may be guided to walk in Your ways on all the days of our lives.

*By consecrating ourselves to Mary and Joseph, we seek the same tenderness and guidance that protected the child Jesus.*
