# Day 4 of the Novena to Merciful Love
*2015-01-23*

> Bill Young leads the fourth day of Mother Speranza’s Novena to Merciful Love, offering prayers, a meditation on “Thy Kingdom Come,” and a heartfelt petition for conversion and grace.

## Opening Prayer

My Jesus, my sorrow is great, for I have offended You many times. Yet, with a father’s heart, You have forgiven me and, by saying “Ask, and you shall receive,” invite me to ask for what I need. Full of confidence I turn to Your merciful love, that it may grant me what I implore in this novena—especially the grace to change my behavior, to bear witness to my faith with my works, and to live according to Your precepts, burned in the fire of Your love.

## Meditation on “Thy Kingdom Come”

We pray that the kingdom of God’s grace may come, that the favors from heaven may reign with us: the kingdom of the righteous, the kingdom of glory where He reigns in perfect communion with the blessed. We also ask for an end to the kingdom of sin, the evil one, and darkness.

## Petition for Mercy

My Jesus, I turn to You in this time of tribulation. If You wish to show clemency toward this poor creature, may Your goodness triumph. In Your love and mercy, forgive my faults, even though I feel unworthy of what I ask. Graciously hear my prayer and grant my desires if they serve Your glory and the good of my soul. I place myself in Your hands; do with me as You please.

## Concluding Prayers

Lord, have mercy on me and do what Your heart inspires. Free me from all that impedes me from drawing near to You, and grant that at the hour of my death my soul may hear not a trembling sentence but Your voice of kindness.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

*May the merciful love of Christ transform our hearts and lead us to live as true witnesses of the Kingdom.*
