# Novena to Merciful Love: Day 3
*2015-01-22*

> Bill Young leads the third day of the Novena to Merciful Love by Mother Speranza, focusing on the desire for God's name to be hallowed in our lives.

## Introduction and Prayer

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. My Jesus, my sorrow is great considering the disgrace I have had of offending you many times. And yet you, with your heart of a father, have not only forgiven me, but with your words, 'ask and you shall receive,' invite me to ask for what I need. Full of confidence, I turn to your merciful love, so that it may grant me what I implore in this novena, especially the grace to change my behavior, and from now on to bear witness to my faith with my works, while living according to your precepts, and to burn in the fire of your love.

## Meditation on the Our Father

We meditate on the words of our Father: 'Hallowed be thy name.' This is the first thing we must desire and the first thing which we must ask for in prayer. This is the intention which must guide all our works and actions: that God may be known, loved, served, and adored, and that every creature may submit to His power.

## Request for Mercy

My Jesus, I turn to you in this time of turbulence. If you wish to show your clemency towards this poor creature, may your goodness triumph. In your love and mercy, forgive my faults; even if I am unworthy of obtaining what I ask, graciously hear and grant my desires if they serve for your glory and for the good of my soul. I put myself into your hands; do with me as you please.

## Closing Prayers

My Jesus, open to me the door of your mercy; mark me with the seal of your wisdom. Grant that I may be free from every disordered affection, and that I may serve you with love, joy, and singularity. Comfort me with the sweet perfume of your divine word and your commandments, that I may always grow in virtue.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

*The primary intention guiding all our actions should be that God's name be hallowed, known, and loved by all.*
