> Bill Young reflects on the life of St. Fursey and leads a prayerful novena dedicated to the Holy Trinity.

## The Legacy of St. Fursey

Today is January 16th, the feast day of St. Fursey. Like many of you, I had never heard of this saint before, but through a 'saints of the day' app used by my friends in the UK, I learned that Monk Fursey was one of the original saints of Ireland, England, and later France. You could almost call him the first 'Euro saint.' He performed many great works in those countries and converted many souls to Christianity. We pray with him today.

## A Novena to the Holy Trinity

Today we will be doing a novena to the Holy Trinity. We begin with the sign of the cross: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. O Lord, make haste to help me. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

## Prayers to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

Eternal Father, I thank you for having created me in your love. I beseech you to save me in your infinite mercy by the merits of Jesus Christ. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Eternal Son, I thank you for having redeemed me with your most precious blood. I beseech you to save me by your infinite merits. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Eternal Holy Spirit, I thank you for having adopted me by your divine grace. I beseech you to let me grow in holiness through your infinite love. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

*May we grow in holiness through the infinite love of the Holy Trinity.*
