# Give glory to God
*2014-12-25*

> Reflecting on the words of Pope Francis for the Thursday of Christmas Week, this episode explores the angelic song of praise and the call to live lives that give glory to God.

## The Song of the Angels

Today is Thursday of Christmas Week, and we continue our journey with Christ. We reflect on the words of Pope Francis and the scripture from Luke 2:14: 'Glory to God in the highest in heaven, and on earth peace among those whom God favors.' This is the song of the angels who appeared to the shepherds in Bethlehem on the night Jesus was born. It is a song that unites heaven and earth, offering praise and glory to heaven and a promise of peace on earth for all its people.

## A Call to Every Person

This song is for everyone—every man and woman who keeps watch through the night, who hopes for a better world, and who cares for others while humbly seeking to do their duty. Above all else, this is what Christmas bids us to do: give glory to God, for God is good, faithful, and merciful.

## Knowing the Face of God

It is my hope that everyone will come to know the true face of God, the Father who has given us Jesus. I hope that everyone will feel God's chosenness, live in His presence, and love and adore Him. We are called to give glory to God above all by our lives—lives spent for the love of Him and of all our brothers and sisters.

*We give glory to God most fully by living lives dedicated to the love of Him and our neighbors.*
