# Day Three of the Novena to Our Lady of Guadalupe
*2014-12-05*

> Bill Young leads the third day of the novena to Our Lady of Guadalupe, praying the Creed, the Our Father, the Hail Mary, and a heartfelt petition for strength to imitate Mary's immaculate heart.

## Opening Prayer

Good morning. This is Bill Young, and welcome to Prayer at Lunch. Today we continue the novena in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe, day three. In the name of the Father, and of His Son, and of the Holy Spirit, amen.

Oh God, come to my aid. Lord, make haste to help me. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be. Amen.

## The Nicene Creed

We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of all that is seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, begotten of the Father, true God from true God, not made, consubstantial with the Father. Through Him all things were made.

For our salvation He came down from heaven, was incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake He was crucified, suffered death, and was buried. On the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and His kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. He has spoken through the prophets.

We believe in one holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

## Prayer to Our Lady of Guadalupe – Day Three

Third day, O Mary, whose immaculate heart was pierced by seven swords of grief, help me walk valiantly amid the sharp thorns strewn across my pathway. Obtain for me the strength to be a true imitator of you. This I ask of you, my dear Mother.

## Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

## Hail Mary and Closing Doxology

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be. Amen.

*May Mary’s pierced heart give us the courage to walk our thorny paths with true imitation of her love.*
