# The 46/7 challenge: going for the gold
*2014-09-14*

> Bill Young discusses the 46/7 challenge to raise awareness and funds for children battling cancer through the Ariel Anchor Cancer Foundation.

## The 46/7 Challenge

I have just accepted the one-mile challenge from Diane Trevelli of the Ariel Anchor Cancer Foundation. It is called the 46/7 challenge, based on the heartbreaking reality that 46 children are diagnosed with cancer every day, and seven children die every day from the disease.

## Taking Action

To participate in this challenge, I am donating $46 to the Ariel Anchor Cancer Foundation and reaching out to seven of my friends. I have already completed my mile and will be sending my check to the foundation.

## Supporting Families

The Ariel Anchor Cancer Foundation provides vital support to children with cancer and their families, helping them struggle through the burden of paying medical bills. I want to challenge Jeff, Fetty, Andy, Mark, Schellie, Lynn, and all my friends from the Miami Dolphins Special Teams volunteer force to join me in this effort.

*By completing the 46/7 challenge, we can provide financial relief and hope to families facing the tragedy of childhood cancer.*
