Good morning. This is Bill Young, and welcome to the 154th episode of Catholic Podcast Ministries, Prayer and Lunch. Today I want to share a simple, beautiful prayer I found on Belief.net called “Prayer in Time of Trouble.” It works for any kind of difficulty we face.

## The Prayer

Lord, in every need let me come to You with humble trust, saying, “Jesus, help me.”
In all my doubts, perplexities, and temptations, Jesus, help me.
In hours of loneliness, weariness, and trials, Jesus, help me.
In the failure of my plans and hopes, in disappointments, troubles, and sorrows, Jesus, help me.
When others fail me, Your grace alone can assist me. Jesus, help me.
When I throw myself to Your love as Father and Savior, Jesus, help me.
When my heart is cast down by failure, seeing no good come from my efforts, Jesus, help me.
When I feel impatient and my cross irritates me, Jesus, help me.
When I am ill, and my head and hands cannot work, and I am lonely, Jesus, help me.
Always, despite my weaknesses, falls, and shortcomings of every kind, Jesus, help me and never forsake me. Amen.

## Why We Pray in Both Good and Bad Times

We all experience ups and downs in life, and it’s natural to pray more when we’re in trouble. But the prayer reminds us that we should turn to God in both good times and bad, trusting that His love sustains us through every circumstance.
