## A Greeting to our Heavenly Mother

Today is May 11th, Mother's Day. In honor of all mothers, I am praying a prayer titled "I Am Your Mother," addressed to our mother, Mary. O tending, loving mother, virgin most prudent, who are the mother of my Redeemer, I greet you today with the greatest love for which a daughter's heart and a children's heart can love you as a mother.

## The Purity of the Blessed Virgin

As I am so helpless, I draw from the passion of the heart of your divine son to greet you as the purest of creatures. You were formed in accordance with the desire and perfection of God, three times holy, without original sin and free from corruption. You have always been faithful, and the grace in your soul has been enriched with such merits as to be raised above all creatures.

## The Mother of Jesus Christ

Chosen to be the mother of Jesus Christ, you guided him in the sanctuary of the utmost purity. He who came to give life to souls began his own human life in you, and you provided his nourishment. O incomparable, immaculate virgin, light of the most Holy Trinity, admired by the angels and saints, you are the light of heaven and the morning star.

## A Refuge for Sinners

You are the rosary that has blossomed into spring, the whitest lily, the delicate and graceful iris, and the scented violet, reserved to give delight to the kingdom of heaven. You are my mother, the precious ark in which all virtues are enclosed. O most powerful, merciful, and faithful virgin, you are the refuge of sinners. I rejoice in the many gifts and privileges the Almighty has granted you.

## A Final Petition for Protection

Mother of the Redeemer, mother of poor sinners, have mercy on us and enclose us within your mantle of protection. I greet you in the name of all men and women, all saints, and all angels. I love you through the Father and through the Son, my Redeemer, and with the purity of the Holy Spirit. Blessed me, and bless all men and women; protect them and pray for them to the Almighty. Farewell, tender, most beloved mother. I greet you night and day, in time and in eternity. Amen.
