# Chaplet to Our Lady of Fatima – Fifth Day
*2014-05-06*

> Bill Young leads the fifth day of the Chaplet to Our Lady of Fatima, reciting the prayers and reflecting on the role of penance and the Rosary in the midst of wartime suffering.

## Opening Prayer

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

O God, come to my aid. O Lord, make haste to help me. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be. Amen.

## Apostles' Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell; on the third day He rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

## Chaplet for Day Five

O Queen of Peace, compassionate Mother, in a world threatened by war you showed the humble shepherds the way to free themselves through the recitation of the Rosary. The practice of penance is a seed we plant with God, that through faith, Christian virtues, peace, and prosperity may blossom among us.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

## Closing

Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us. Have a great day.

*Through the Chaplet we unite our prayers with Mary’s intercession, trusting that penance and the Rosary bring peace even in troubled times.*
