# Chaplet to Our Lady of Fatima
*2014-05-04*

> Bill Young leads the second day of a prayer series, focusing on a chaplet to Our Lady of Fatima and the importance of purity.

## Opening Prayer

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. O God, come to my aid; O Lord, make haste to help me. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

## The Apostles' Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day, He rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

## Reflection on Purity

Today is the second day. O Pure Virgin Mary, who, clothed in purity white as snow, appeared to simple and innocent shepherds, teaching us how much we must love innocence of body and soul. Help us to appreciate this heavenly gift, so much forgotten today. Do not let us offend our neighbor with words and actions, but rather allow us to help innocent souls to preserve this divine treasure. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen. Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima, pray for us.

## Intercessions for the Sick

I would like to make a special prayer intention for my friends, John and Roseanne. As you know, John has been homebound for over a year and a half due to cancer. Lately, both he and his wife have had the flu, which makes his condition even more critical. Let us pray for John and Roseanne, that they may have a speedy return to health, that their souls remain loving to God, and that their bodies may also be loving to God.

*We are called to appreciate and preserve the divine treasure of innocence in both body and soul.*
