*2013-03-14*

> Bill Young leads a special National Day of Prayer for St. Joseph, offering a heartfelt petition to the foster father of Jesus, followed by a Lenten prayer for personal conversion.

## Opening

Welcome. This is Bill Young, and thank you for joining the 50th episode of Catholic Podcast Ministries. Today, March 15, 2008, we observe a National Day of Prayer for St. Joseph. Although his feast is March 19, the men’s clubs across the United States have gathered to pray today in preparation for Holy Week.

## Prayer to St. Joseph

O blessed Joseph, in our tribulation we implore your help. By the affection that united you to the Immaculate Virgin Mother of God, and by your fatherly love for Jesus Christ, we humbly ask you to look down with compassion on the inheritance purchased by Christ’s blood. Protect us with your powerful intercession. O prudent guardian of the Holy Family, watch over the people of Jesus. Keep us safe from error and corruption, and be our protector from the powers of darkness. As you rescued the infant Jesus from danger, now defend God’s Holy Church from the snares of the enemy. Extend your continual protection to each of us, that we may follow your example, live and die in holiness, and obtain everlasting happiness in heaven. Amen.

## Lenten Journey Prayer

Dear Lord, as I walk my Lenten journey with you, send me your Spirit. Help me to give of myself, turn away from sin, and fast and pray so that I may know you better. Renew me through this pilgrimage, that I might share your grace with the world. Amen.

## Closing

God bless you all. Thank you.

*St. Joseph’s faithful intercession invites us to trust God’s protection as we journey through Lent.*
