# Miracles Day #1 – Our Lenten Journey Together
*2013-01-27*

> Bill Young begins a novena to Our Lady of Miracles, offering prayers and reflections for the Lenten season, and dedicates the devotion to his friend John.

## Opening Prayer

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

O God, come to my aid. O Lord, make haste to help me. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

## The Apostles' Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell; on the third day He rose again, ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

## Prayer to Our Lady of Miracles

Our Lady of Miracles, my Mother Mary, you have revealed yourself as a source of grace and blessing. Grant that I may enjoy these benefits and obtain the particular grace I ask of you today with all my heart.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

## Petition for Humility and Grace

Our Lady of Miracles, you have chosen a simple, honest people to carry out your will, teaching us that humility is necessary to receive your graces. Grant that my heart may be simple and humble, that I may obtain the grace I now pray for.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

## The Litany of Our Lady

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness, our hope. To you we cry, poor banished children of Eve. Turn, most gracious advocate, and look upon us with eyes of mercy. Show us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O loving, sweet Virgin Mary, pray for us, O Mother of God, that we may be worthy of Christ’s promise. Amen.

## Lenten Prayer for the Journey

Dear Lord, as I walk this Lenten journey with you, send me your Spirit. Help me to turn away from sin, to fast and pray, that I may know you more deeply. May this season renew my desire to share your grace with the world. Amen.

*May our Lenten pilgrimage, guided by Our Lady of Miracles, draw us ever closer to Christ’s love.*
