# Thanksgiving Prayer
*2011-11-22*

> Bill Young leads a Thanksgiving prayer, asking God to unite the rich and poor at the Lord’s table and to inspire gratitude and service.

## Opening Thanksgiving Thoughts

Good morning. This is Bill Young, and welcome to the 210th episode of Catholic Podcast Ministries, Prayer and Lunch. Today is Thanksgiving Day, and we have much to be thankful for—our families, friends, fellow parishioners, and coworkers.

## Remembering Those in Need

We must also remember those who lack the opportunity to share a meal, those who may be hungry or in need. Let us keep them in our prayers as we give thanks.

## The Thanksgiving Prayer

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

This Thanksgiving, let those of us who have much and those who have little gather at the welcoming table of the Lord. At this blessed feast, may rich and poor alike remember that we are called to serve one another and to walk together in God’s gracious world. With thankful hearts we praise our God, who, like a loving parent, gives us every good thing. Today and every day, it pleases God for us to sit as brothers and sisters, sharing the bounty of the earth and the grace that God has placed in each blessed soul. For this we give thanks and praise to our loving and gracious God.

*May we all gather around God’s table, sharing our blessings and caring for those in need.*
