# Prayer at Harvest and Thanksgiving
*2011-11-21*

> Bill Young leads a Thanksgiving prayer, thanking God for the harvest, the gifts of nature, and the grace that sustains us.

## Opening

Good morning. I’m Bill Young, and welcome to this episode of Prayer and Lunch. Today is Thanksgiving, a time to give thanks for the many blessings we enjoy.

## The Thanksgiving Prayer

O God, source and giver of all things, you manifest your infinite majesty, power, and goodness in the earth about us. We give you honor and glory for the sun and the rain, for the manifold fruits of our fields, for the increase of our herds and flocks. We thank you for the enrichment of our souls with divine grace. Supreme Lord of the harvest, graciously accept the fruit of our toil. In union with Jesus, your Son, as atonement for our sins, for the growth of your Church, for peace and love in our homes, and for salvation for all. We pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.

## Reflection

We pause to remember that every morsel on our table comes from the labor of many hands and the providence of God. May this Thanksgiving deepen our gratitude, inspire generosity, and draw us closer to the One who sustains all creation.

*May we carry the spirit of Thanksgiving beyond the holiday, offering continual thanks for God’s abundant gifts.*
