I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas—I certainly did, despite a busy day visiting family and friends. While visiting my two‑year‑old godchild, I was reminded of my own son at that age, reaching out his arms for a hug. Holding him felt wonderful and reminded me that we are called to embrace the Child Jesus with the same open, childlike love.

Jesus invites us to have childlike faith, and a child’s natural response is to open their arms and embrace. That openness is the very posture we should adopt toward the Child Jesus, trusting in His tender mercy.

## Prayer to the Child Jesus for Hopeless Cases

O Holy Child of Jesus, sweet promise made to your dear disciple, the most holy Virgin Mary, when you addressed her with these beautiful words, you anointed the broken soul with the basin of heavenly consolation. Take my heart, and whenever I seek grace, obtain it through the merits of your infancy. I place my needs before you, O Divine Child. Help me live a holy life so that one day I may reach our heavenly home. Through the merits of your infancy, the intercession of your most lovable Mother, and the holy archangels Michael and Gabriel, grant me the graces I now implore. I ask with lively hope, trusting in your tenderness and mercy, certain that you will hear my prayers. Amen.
