Good morning. This is Bill Young, and welcome to episode 198 of Catholic Podcast Ministries, Prayer and Lunch.

## The Prayer for Hearing God’s Word

In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Father, I am praying for the people I will name, and for others in my circle of family and friends who need Christ. You are the God who gives life to the spiritually dead. I thank You that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Yet Scripture asks: How can those I am praying for call on Jesus if they have not believed in Him? How can they believe if they have not heard about Him? How can they hear without someone bringing the truth to them? And how can they hear unless a person is sent?

I ask You to send someone into each of their lives—someone with the message of life, the Word of Christ. For Your Word does not return empty; it accomplishes what You desire and fulfills the purpose for which it is sent. May they hear the words of Christ, for His Word is the Spirit and it is life. May the words they hear not be stolen from their hearts. Send them someone they can respect to bring them to the truth. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
